Jamie Rocha Allan - 'Medea' by Euripedes
Jamie completed the MFA in Theatre Directing at Birkbeck College. During his training he assisted Raz Shaw on the UK Premier of Radium Girls. As resident assistant director at the Lyric Theatre Hammersmith, he assisted David Farr on numerous productions and Paul Hunter on Beauty and the Beast. Since graduating, Jamie has worked as assistant director on Frantic Assembly’s Othello, and as associate director on the most recent production of Not In My Name, a verbatim piece dealing with issues of radicalisation. Furthering an interest in new writing, Jamie has directed First Impressions, at the Margate Theatre Royal, Super Situation at the Theatre 503 and Edinburgh Festival, and The Best Way by Nikki Williams. Jamie has also directed Scratched Out, a brand new Hip-Hop musical developed for the scratch nights at Oval House, and then performed at Riverside Studios. Jamie directed Comedy of Errors, at Arts Ed and is returning at the end of the year to direct a production of Romeo & Juliet.
